As we wrap up the first quarter of 2025, we’re highlighting some of the latest updates launched in the Tava Health platform. These enhancements are designed to help our providers deliver care with greater ease and organization—while ensuring our clients continue to receive the highest quality support.
Here's what’s new!
1. Personal Notes
Personal notes are like “sticky notes” for providers. They live outside of session notes and are completely private—perfect for remembering client preferences, session follow-ups, or anything else you want to keep top of mind.
FAQs:
- Where can I find Personal Notes during a session?
Click the personal notes icon in the top right corner, next to session notes. - How do I view them after a session?
Select your client and click into any session. You’ll find the personal notes tab above your Tava Scribe or manual notes. - Can I edit them later?
Yes! Personal notes are rolling, editable, and can be updated anytime. - Will clients see these notes?
No—personal notes are not submitted to the medical record and are visible only to you.

2. In-App Notifications
We’ve made it easier to stay informed and on track with new in-app notifications.
When you log in to your account, you’ll see two new items in your left-hand navigation bar:
- To Do’s: Actionable tasks that require your attention (e.g., recredentialing, document uploads)
- Alerts: Informational updates such as new insurance enrollments
Click the To Do’s & Alerts tab to view active and past notifications anytime via the right sidebar.

3. Schedule a Past Session
Providers can now schedule sessions retroactively—up to 2 weeks in the past.
This is perfect for those moments when a session happens but doesn’t get logged in the moment.
Here’s how it works:
- Schedule just as you would normally, by clicking the calendar or "New Appointment"
- Everything functions the same—except the session is backdated
- Your session will be billed as usual
- Clients will not be notified when a past session is scheduled

4. Recredentialing
Every 3 years, providers must be recredentialed to verify their continued eligibility with insurance payers. We've built an easy process for providers to gather all the necessary info in one spot to prevent any interruption in coverage.
How it works:
- 60 days before recredentialing is due, providers receive an email and in-app notification with access to the Tava recredentialing portal
- Simply log in and follow the prompt in your To Do notifications
- Upload your resume and sync your CAQH info in the credentialing portal
- Sign and submit your attestation
- Done! Our credentialing team will take it from there (turnaround in 3–4 business days)
